Pamela Marcon

A Washington DC area native, Ms. Marcon has been painting in acrylics since 1972.

Her Neo-Primitive landscapes give a semblance of reality and a feel of fantasy. Her work has been seen in area restaurants, hotels, and private collections; currently she is showing with the Arlington Artists’ Alliance.

In 1988, she was represented by Art Associates Incorporated and was commissioned by The Raytheon Corporation to do 121 paintings for their installation in Massachusetts.

She had pieces in The Prince Royal Gallery in Alexandria, as well as The

Sharon Scott Gallery of Originals in Boca Raton, Florida in the early 90’s.

She retired to the Shenandoah Valley in 1994 to paint while running her family’s campground; her Gallery and the camp were washed away in a flash flood the next year.

After the flood, she returned to her home in Arlington and painted murals around the outside of her house; stucco seemed a more stable canvas. The Washington Post included her house in an article on murals in June 2008.

For the Crystal Flight Celebration in 2008, she painted three of the planes that were

displayed throughout Crystal City. The sculptures added a new dimension to her work.

As well as her acrylic paintings, she has done graphic design for DuPont Legal, Arlington Historic Society, and Forensic Technologies International in Annapolis.

These days she is working on a large body of work in preparation for another gallery not located in a flood plain.
